City of Hudson Directory Collection

As part of our ongoing mission to make History Room resources accessible to the public we are scanning editions from our collection of City of Hudson Directories from 1851 to 1940 (though our physical collection contains up to the present day). All of the directories we digitize will be uploaded on the New York Heritage website here, and in our Google Drive folder here. The directories in our Drive folder are easily searchable. Just open the directory you want to search, and click the three-dot icon in the corner and select Find. Please note that the 1888-89 directory is especially useful for looking up addresses on Warren ST, as it has both the original house numbers, and the current ones.

Collection on NYHeritage.org

As part of our efforts to make the history of Hudson, Greenport and Stockport accessible to the public, we have digitized many of our resources and placed them on the New York Heritage Digital Collections website. This site is a collaborative project of eight of the nine Empire State Library Network library councils. We are a member of the Southeastern New York Library Resources Council and are proud to be a part of this broad range of materials that present a glimpse into our state’s history and culture. Click on the link in the title to see selected images from our BLACC, postcards, and Ukrainian American collections among others.
